Most of the applicants for H-1B Visa during the first nine months of the current US financial year were Indians. The US financial year starts from October 1 and ends on September 30. 2.47 Lakh applications were filed by Indians between October 1, 2016 and June 30, 2017. This will be an advantage for them in terms of the number of visa approvals given according to a section of US Senators. Till June end the leading five firms to whom the visas were granted included Cognizant (US Corp), Infosys, TCS, Accenture and Wipro. Many applications were still pending approval according to The US Citizenship and Immigration Services.
